Danielle Straffi, MA, LPC, ATR is a 2000 graduate of Drexel’s Hahnemann Art Therapy program. Danielle has provided therapeutic services to children, adolescents and families in various settings including community based outpatient, child/adolescent partial care and in homes and community settings. Danielle has experience with a range of therapeutic interventions including art therapy, applied behavioral analysis, and brief, solution focused methods. Danielle has also conducted family and bonding evaluations which have been utilized to assist involved professionals in decision making related to family court proceedings. Danielle will treat children in conjunction with their parent(s)/guardian(s) between the ages of 3 and 18 who are struggling with behavioral challenges or diagnoses including, but not limited to: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Adjustment Disorders, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Anxiety (including phobias, obsessive compulsive behaviors, social and generalized anxiety) and Depression (including Bi-Polar disorder). Danielle’s approach to working with children/adolescents and families is highly individualized and her interventions are geared toward capitalizing on the strengths of the child and his or her family. Danielle believes that parents are the experts on their children and that their involvement and active participation in treatment is therefore essential in encouraging positive change. Danielle has worked with many families from diverse backgrounds over her 8 years of service provision, during which she has developed a keen awareness of the stress and chaos experienced by families whose children are struggling with behavioral health challenges. Danielle’s treatment strategies are always designed with the following goals in mind: Families who commit themselves to working on these goals and using therapeutic techniques tailored to their individualized needs are empowered to achieve a greater sense of balance, stability, and increased satisfaction in their interactions and relationships with their children. As a result, behaviorally challenged children develop increased control over their behaviors and emotions and gain the freedom to replace their views of parent(s) as “disciplinarians” or “critics” with beliefs that parent(s) are “guides” and “partners” in their mutual pursuit of confidence, success, and happiness. Danielle is currently available to see clients on Thursday nights and can be reached at (609)-304-1905. |
